During recent years and the ever-increasing use of the internet, Direct to Customer has taken off more and more. Let’s take a look at companies such as Hellofresh and Gousto. They ship you a box which provides you with all the ingredients to make meals for your family. They supply the recipe card and the exact amount of ingredients for each meal. This has been a huge hit in recent years and continues to be a growing industry.  Gousto, Hellofresh, Simply Cook and Mindful Chef are all part of an industry that is estimated to be worth £1bn a year in the UK.  Globally the meal kit sector is predicted to hit over £7bn by 2025.

This along with start-up, independent companies that supply you with brownies for someone’s birthday or speciality drinks that previously you would have had to go to a shop to purchase. This is a unique business model that allows the company to serve customers and sell their products without having physical premises. It also allows customers direct access to companies and their products that they may have not been able to access if they were not in the same location.
